DAY 2 of 44 and Ready for More!
Today’s F is FINANCES and whew, if you’d told me years ago I’d be excited to talk about budgeting, I would’ve laughed while dodging collection calls and pretending that if I just “manifested hard enough,” my bank account would magically fix itself.
Also FYI, if you don’t check the mailbox…the overdue bills are still in there, they don’t disappear no matter how hard you visualize that they do!
But here we are.
A few years ago after my world came crumbling down, I had to take myself from bankruptcy to breakthroughs, and this year, I’m taking it even deeper with a full-on Buy Nothing Challenge.
Yup. For a year. (Cue the credit card crying softly in the background and Bezos wondering how he will ever pay for his next wedding!?.)
Why this challenge matters:
We live in a culture that says:“You deserve it. Treat yourself. One click won’t hurt.”
Meanwhile, we’re drowning in clutter, debt, and dopamine crashes.
But here’s the wildest thing I’ve learned: Budgeting is Super Spiritual.
Knowing where your money comes from and where it’s going? That’s not just smart, it’s divine discipline. It tells the Universe:“I’m not just asking for abundance. I’m ready to take care of it when it arrives.” And guess what?
Most of the time, we are doing enough, we’re just spending on autopilot or chasing a life we haven’t stopped to define. I often see people in my treatment space who feel like they aren’t doing enough and they are on the verge of burnout chasing a dream life they’ve never even budgeted for. They’re hustling toward a version of success they haven’t stopped to define, let alone know how much it would take to afford.
I have a process coming up next week that I’ll share with you and it’s gonna blow your mind, set you free and put you in total alignment with your goals & dreams. It just might even calm your nervous system
Here’s my Buy Nothing Challenge Breakdown:
I’m only spending on:
✔️ Groceries, Necessities & supplements
✔️ Toiletries (only after I use up the 73 mini shampoos and lotions under the sink)
✔️ Home repairs (if my toilet explodes, I’m not lighting sage and hoping for the best)
✔️ Business needs (not “ooh look, another IKEA something thingamabob we need”)
✔️ Memories & experiences (because I’m collecting moments, not mugs)
Every week, during my Challenge Recap (aka Cindy’s version of SNL), I’ll share:
What I wanted to buy What I didn’t buy What I did instead How much I’m theoretically saving for travel - the MVP of Girl Math
Real-life money moments, no fluff.
And YES this is about becoming debt free again
.I’ve done it once. I’ll do it again. And if it’s your goal too? I’m bringing you with me.
Wanna follow along? Got your own financial goals?
Drop them in the comments. Write ‘em on a post-it and stick it to your mirror. Whatever you do, don’t do this alone. This is your permission slip to talk about money (yes, even if you have less than no money) without shame and actually have fun doing it.Let’s get financially free AND feel damn good in the process.
Much Love,
Cindy 🌺
